DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has offered his best wishes to the countrymen on the eve of Sri Rama Navami 2010. The Prime Minister on Tuesday said that he hopes that Sri Ram Navami 2010 ushers in happiness for all countrymen and all be blessed with Lord Rama’s blessings. Dr. Manmohan Singh also added that he believes that every human being in times of extreme distress can seek refuge and peace by worshiping Lord Rama.

Sri Rama Navami 2010 is the auspicious eve when Lord Rama was born to Queen Kausalya and King Dasharatha of Ayodhya kingdom in the Shukla Paksha of Navami. The Hindu God is said to be the 7th embodiment of the Dashavatara of Lord Vishnu (10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu). Sri Rama Navami is observed in the Chaitra month according to the Hindu Calender. The auspicious day is marked by celebrations which take place all over the country.

Sri Rama Navami 2010 also happens to be a grand festive time for all Vaishnavites who indulge into having a fast on this day. Some devotees even go ahead taking fast for nine days which starts at Ugadi and ends in Rama Navami which according to the belief purifies any and every human soul. Besides the Pujas and the rituals, devotees also indulge into performing kirtanas and bhajans which are special songs chanted in the name of Lord Rama. Sri Rama Navami 2010 celebrating the birth of Lord Rama pulls in heavy crowd in places like Ayodhya, Rameshwaram and Ujjain which is swarmed with huge number of devotees from all over the country.
