New York (GaeaTimes.com) Puerto Rican Day parade 2010 is being held today, Sunday June 13, 2010 in New York. There are two events the first event is the ‘Annual Breakfast’ at 8:00 a.m. and the second and main event is the Puerto Rican Day Parade which is going to be held at 11:00 a.m. The Puerto Rican Day Parade reflects the pride in Puerto Rican Roots, culture and tradition of the New York born residents of Puerto Rican descent. The number of people taking part in this Puerto Rican Day Parade also shows the growth in the number of Puerto Rican descents residing at NYC. The Puerto Rican Day Parade is the country’s biggest and rowdiest celebration of the Puerto Rican culture.
The ‘Annual Breakfast’ event will be held at 1535 Broadway between 45th and 46th Street, at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York. This event is invitation only and confirmed attendance is required for the event. The main Puerto Rican Day Parade will be held at the Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 86th Street. It is an outdoor cultural event and it is open to public. You are welcome to join and participate in this event.
This year the New Yoricans will celebrate the 53rd annual Puerto Rican day Parade and apart from the proud Puerto Rican Community, delegates from various towns of Puerto Rico and states across the country will line up for the parade. According to the latest news, about 3 million people have gathered for fun, food, dance and music. It is reported that Marc Anthony, Daddy Yankee and El Bambino will perform at the event.
