MEXICO (GaeaTimes.com) — The Day of the Dead (El Da de los Muertos in Spanish) happens to be a Mexican and Mexican-American celebration of deceased ancestors which takes place on the November 1 and November 2, coinciding with the much similar Roman Catholic celebrations of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
There are numerous Roman Catholics around the world, for whom Halloween has turned out to be officially old news, as many will participate in the colorful celebrations today that mark the All Saints’ Day or in Mexico, Dia de los Muertos.
Well, to get into the real fact, it is primarily viewed as a Mexican holiday and is also celebrated in communities in the United States with a large number of population of Mexican-Americans. Latin America though notices lesser extent of the same.
Leaving apart the morbid subject matter, the holiday is celebrated joyfully, and though it coincides with Halloween, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day, enjoyments take place none the less.
