CHANDIGARH - The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will Wednesday stage rallies in defence of one of its leaders involved in the Ajmer blast case and against what it termed as the Congress-led central government’s anti-RSS and anti-Hindu religion politics.

“Senior leaders of the Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government are unlawfully associating RSS with terrorism and accusing our volunteers of various bomb attacks,” RSS spokesperson Kishore Kant told reporters here Sunday.

Kant said police were trying to falsely implicate RSS leader Indresh Kumar in the 2007 Ajmer blast case at the behest of the Congress-led government.

“The anti-terrorism squad is unnecessarily harassing Indresh. It has no proof against him and is trying to falsely implicate him on the behest of the Congress,” he said.

“Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is giving wrong statements, linking our movement with terrorism,” he added.

“The Congress is running a wrong propaganda. We will stage a nationwide protest against it Nov 10. Our members and supporters will gather in all states and union territories and stage dharna against this,” Kant said.

In Punjab, the members will gather in huge numbers in Amritsar, Batala, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur, he added.

Three people were killed and 30 injured in the blast at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s shrine in Ajmer in 2007.

“Our protest will be peaceful and we will not create any law and order problem. Senior RSS leaders will be present in all states to lead from the front,” Kant said.

“The Congress is playing the politics of revenge. They are trying to settle their personal scores through this mud-slinging. They have named it saffron-terrorism,” he added.
