KOLKATA - City dwellers would face tough time during Durga Puja as there are chances of moderate rainfall during the festival, a weatherman predicted Wednesday.

Due to formation of a depression over the Bay of Bengal there are high chances of moderate rainfall in and around the city during Puja, said a meteorological department official.

According to initial assessment, there are heavy chances of moderate rainfall in and around several areas of Kolkata. There are chances of heavy rainfall in Midnapore, G.C. Debnath, a senior official at the Regional Meteorological Centre in Kolkata told IANS.

Durga Puja, the five-day autumn festival beginning with Shashti and ending with Dussehra, is being held with great fervour at colossal puja pandals (marquees), where idols of the goddess and her four children are installed and worshipped amid much fanfare.
