Saraswati Puja: Many Patna Institutes To Leave Out

PATNA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Just like educational institutions all across the nation, schools, colleges and other centers of learning in Patna would be celebrating Saraswati Puja with much elan on Tuesday. The goddess of learning, wisdom as well as knowledge would be worshiped by students in all these educational centers while many households would be celebrating the special day with equal fanfare. Although most of the local educational institutions in the Bihar capital would be holding Saraswati Puja on Tuesday, a number of national-level institutes have refrained from indulging in the celebrations, reiterating that the day is not marked in their calender.
Renowned institutions of the city such as National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Indian Institute of Technology, National Institute of Technology as well as the Birla Institute of Technology have made it clear that they would not be observing Saraswati Puja in their campuses. While talking to reporters, NIFT official, Sanjay Srivastava who is the center-coordinator of the institute said that since NIFT is a national-level college, it shares it holiday dates with the rest of the centers in the country due to which, the institute does not have a holiday on this particular day.
Despite the national-level institutions’ decision to not celebrate Saraswati Puja, the day would be marked by with religious fervor as well as traditional customs in various educational centers in schools and colleges all over the city. Meanwhile, Patna College students have revealed that the puja to worship the goddess of learning would commence at their college campus on early Tuesday morning and the festivity would be observed with much fervor.
