Onam Shopping On Full Swing

KOCHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Onam celebrations begin today and the residents of the southern states of India have started their festive shopping in various states. This harvest related festive season is something the residents of Kerala and Karnataka wait for the whole year and the business entities also make full utilisation of the season. The good thing for the shop owners is that despite the rainfall the shopping spree has not been affected this year. Till this time the queue at the shops in Kochi is only getting longer with time. The fact that various companies are offering free gift with their products and also giving lucrative discounts is alluring the customers who are braving the monsoon to buy gifts for their family.

Onam is a very important and auspicious occasion for the Residents of Southern India. The time is also known for the various types of yummy foods that are prepared by people. In Kochi traffic snarls were observed in roads today as people hit the streets with their cars fort shopping and visiting their friends. The business men in the city are of the opinion that this year the shopping urge is on the higher side in people.

The business fraternity in Kochi also arranged for various types of programs for adding a bit colour and tinge to the day. The shoppers at places like Menaka Junction and the Marine Drive indulged in setting fireworks to celebrate Onam in style. The shopping is likely to go on full swing on today and the shoppers are quite happy about the increased footfall.
