Iskon Celebrates Janmashtami 2010

KOLKATA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — Janmashtami is a Hindu Festival that marks the birth of Lord Krishna. It is celebrated all across India with a great fervor. ISKON or International Society for Krishna Consciousness is celebrating Janmashtami today. This is celebrated on the 8th day of Bhadra Month.
Many followers of Lord Vishnu observes this day with the Nanda Mahotsav or the Nandotsav. Ladies from every house mark the entrance of their homes with the foot prints of small infants. It is done to signify Lord Krishna who enters into their homes and make them happy and prosperous.
Iskon India will be celebrating Janmashtami at the Krishna Theme National Park. There will be a lot of programs going on there and many visitors are expected to be there on this special occasion.
